FAQ About Infusions

What is IV Therapy?

Intravenous (IV) vitamin therapy is a safe and effective method for delivering vitamins and minerals directly to your bloodstream.  This method bypasses the digestive tract which allows for 100% absorption of all nutrients, making them immediately available for cellular use

What are the benefits
of IV therapy?

There are many benefits. Benefits also depend on which mix you receive which include but are not limited to:

  • Most efficient method of delivering vital nutrients to the body

  • Bypasses the digestive tract for 100% absorption

  • Nutrients are immediately available for cellular use

  • Safely delivers higher doses of vitamins that would not be tolerated if taken orally

  • Boosts immune system to help prevent or treat illness

  • Increases energy

  • Slows the effects of aging

  • Aids in athletic performance recovery

  • Supports a pain management program

Are there any absolute contraindications for IV therapy?

Yes, if you have kidney disease or heart failure you are not a good candidate for IV therapy. Our RN will help you decide if you are a good candidate or not. Just call and talk with our RN today.

Do we have an option for Vitamin C only?

Yes, we are currently creating that option and it will be available in May. We will also be exploring offering add ons of B12 alone, Glutathione, and possibly other stand alone ingredients.

Is it better than taking vitamins orally?

Yes, vitamins and nutrients taken orally are only partially absorbed. Getting vitamins through the IV process is a direct route to the bloodstream and your cells for maximum absorption. It is also safe to keep taking your oral vitamins.

Is it safe?

Yes, we only use reputable and accredited compounding pharmacies for our ingredients. These infusions are administered by licensed Registered Nurse

How often should I have an IV treatment?

This depends on each individual’s needs and treatments preferred.  For best results we recommend  bi-monthly infusions with many of the treatments to support overall health. Some of the treatments are a quick fix and are only needed when the ailment is active ie: migraine, hangover. We suggest speaking to the Registered Nurse on site for what would be best for you and your needs.

Can I have IV therapy if I am taking medications?

There are a few medications that can interact with IV therapy. Our RN on staff will conduct a thorough client history to ensure the drip of your choice is not only safe for you but effective, and not interacting with your current medication regimen.

How does IV Therapy work?

After consenting to treatment and taking a brief medical history we get your IV experience started. When you arrive you will be brought back to a room. Your arm will be prepped in a sterile fashion, and an IV will be placed and secured. A normal IV bag takes about 30-60 minutes to complete. Once completed we will remove the catheter tube, cover the IV site, and hand you some paperwork. It is that simple.

Are there side effects?

Side effects rarely happen if at all. If they do they are usually minor and short lived. Bruising or bleeding at IV site, warming or cooling sensation in arm, chest or stomach, tasting the vitamins or having vitamin smell in your urine. Our licensed staff are trained to manage all side effects that may occur.

Is there an age minimum for IV hydration?

Yes, for most blends we can start them at age 18. There are other blends coming that would be suitable for young competitors/athletes that we would consider using starting at 16 or 17 depending on the person.

How long does it take?

Depending on the mix you can plan to be in the clinic between 60 and 90 minutes. The first time you use our service it will take just a bit longer so that you can complete the forms.
